PASJ's EDITOR-IN-CHIEF WINS THE 2024 OUTSTANDING KENYAN YOUNG RESEARCHER AWARD AT KENYA NATIONAL RESEARCH FESTIVAL
Posted on 2024-08-30Pan Africa Science Journal (PASJ) congratulates its chief editor, Dr. Oscar Donde ((Ph.D.) for winning the 2024 outstanding/best Kenyan young researcher and scientist in Biological Sciences, Technology and Innovation. This was announced during the 2024 Kenya National Research Festival and National Outstanding Researcher Awards (NORA) ceremony held at the Edge Convention Centre Nairobi on 23rd August, 2024. The word was on the basis of his tremendous research output with great impact to the community.
Dr. Donde is an Environmental Microbiologist with a PhD. in Environmental Science from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Dr. Donde has been a dedicated rearch scientist since joining Egerton University from Oduwo, a remote village in Muhoroni, Kenya, where he spent his childhood time being raised by a single parent (Dad) after loosing his mother at a very young age. At Egerton, he pursued a BSc. Degree in Applied Aquatic Sciences. He later undertook an MSc. Degree in Limnology from the same institution. This is one of Dr. Donde's achievements in reserch and innovation. Dr. Donde serves as the Departmental Head and a lecturer at the Department of Environmental Science under the Faculty of Environment and Resources Development of Egerton Univerity (https://www.egerton.ac.ke/component/jsn/18928). Dr. Donde is currently undertaking his post doc research at University of Rennes France, under the Make Our Planet Great Again (MOPGA) Program of Campus France.
Dr. Donde dedicates his research achievement to his alma mater, Egerton University, academic and research mentors, family, young boys and girls in pursuit of academic excellence from his home village Oduwo, and all his research collaborators. He expresses his gratitude to God and everyone who has been part of his research journey.
